ICE Laboratory

ICELAB

ICE Laboratory

The ICE laboratory is divided into several technological areas, each representing a type of production. A logistics system consisting of a conveyor line and AGVs connects the different areas, thanks to an innovative software stack for control and monitoring. The specificities of all technological areas in the laboratory are listed below.

Robotics Teaching Laboratory

ODINO laboratory

The ODINO laboratory hosts robotics courses for primary and secondary school students. There is an ongoing collaboration with COMAU, an Italian company in the FCA Group that develops automation processes and produces welding robots and machines for automated warehouses. Each educational course issues its COMAU certification and helps even the youngest children approach the world of robotics, teaching them the essential tools and precautions to take. The laboratory is equipped with four COMAU e.DO collaborative robots, available to students and workers wishing to obtain the COMAU Robotics Patent.

MEETING ROOM

Meeting Room

The Meeting Room, equipped with a Logitech videoconferencing system and an interactive whiteboard, hosts visiting companies, who will view presentations of the innovative tools and processes tested in the laboratory.

CO-WORKING

Co-Working Offices

The co-working offices host a section dedicated to planning, managing, and monitoring the production line. They also provide ten workstations for researchers, students, interns, and thesis writers working in the laboratory. Each workstation is equipped with a PC connected to the university network with the appropriate research software pre-installed.

DATA

Data Room

The Data Room hosts the network equipment that provides connectivity to all the spaces in the facility. Operation is guaranteed by the University of Verona's IT network and by the OT equipment, necessary to build the ICE Laboratory field network. Inside the rack is the server that hosts applications that are fundamental for the functionality of the laboratory.
